The Winter Holiday Season is upon us, and you can now count down the days to the new year with Fairyland's Holiday Calendar!
Get started now by gifting them to friends!

How it works
Each day throughout December, open the calendar door and behind it will be
hiding one of the Fairyland Winter Wildlife.
You then have 12 hours before the door closes again, and during this time your quest is to spot this wildlife
in other gardens - every 5th one you spot will drop a lovely new pot for you as a gift!
There are 31 different pots to be collected in all - a different one each time you open the door.
A few pots are seasonally themed, but most of them you can use throughout the year.
Important: Before you go hunting, make sure you have some space available in your storage area,
or you won't get the pot. The great news here is that we have increased the maximum number of shelves you can have in your storage area to 75 (previously 50), so you should have plenty of space for your nice new pot collection :)
Finally, you don't necessarily need to open a door every day, and you don't need to complete the quest every day if you don't want to (maybe you don't like that day's pot, for instance.) However it is of course nice if you try to open each door on the correct day of the month if possible.

If it's your first time decorating the tree, then you can find details about how to do it after you have planted one in your Garden. You can build as many trees as you wish, and towards the end of December you'll be able to open the "Large Gift" under each of your trees and discover what's inside
(important note: you need to plant and decorate a brand new tree to get this year's gift - if you continue a partially completed tree from last year, then you will just get last year's gift again,
which was just an Underwater Toadstool Seed.)

The Fairyland winter season is upon us again, and our usual wintery seasonal items have started
appearing in the Gift Shoppe!
First up, the Poinsettia:

appearing in the Gift Shoppe!
First up, the Poinsettia:
When flowering, the Poinsettia will attract seasonal birds your Garden (Cardinals and Robins), and when harvested, all Poinsettias release a small but welcome gift of Gold!
Our regular Ice Flowers are also now available:
While flowering, the Ice Flower will bring a beautiful flurry of snow to your Garden, attracting cold-weather wildlife such as the Arctic Fox and the Arctic Hare.
And as usual, whenever the snow is falling in your Garden, any Mice & Mallards visiting will be dressed in their best festive outfits, and will give double diamonds when spotted!
And finally, you can now build Snowmen again!

New Level 42 Bonus Seeds!
Thursday November 13th
One of the more frequent requests we receive is for something extra for Gardens which have reached Level 42 (which is the last of the original Garden Levels.)
So today, a new "Bonus Seeds" section has appeared in the Seed Shoppe!
This section will feature occasional new seeds to grow, for any Garden which has reached Level 42.
The first exciting new bonus seed is some Bamboo, which will attract the Giant Panda to your Garden!

One of the more frequent requests we receive is for something extra for Gardens which have reached Level 42 (which is the last of the original Garden Levels.)
So today, a new "Bonus Seeds" section has appeared in the Seed Shoppe!
This section will feature occasional new seeds to grow, for any Garden which has reached Level 42.
The first exciting new bonus seed is some Bamboo, which will attract the Giant Panda to your Garden!
To grow the Bamboo, you'll first need a Bamboo Pot from the Misc section of the Pot Shoppe.
Then to attract the Giant Panda, you'll also need to get some Bamboo for your feeding table
(instructions for how to do this can be found after your Bamboo is fully grown.)
Finally, the Giant Panda is of course Endangered, which means it will only visit Gardens
extremely rarely and unpredictably, even with the best setup (but they are worth a lot of Diamonds when they do visit, and multiple Fully Grown Bamboo plants will help attract them more frequently of course.)
Good Luck!

As you would expect with this being the final challenge in the series, it is a pretty challenging one, so you should ensure that you have successfully completed the previous

No summertime Garden Pond would be complete without frogs, frogspawn and tadpoles, and you can now breed frogs in your Fairyland Pond!
Here's a reminder of the lifecycle of the frog - your aim is to get this happening in your Pond!

To start with, frogspawn will mysteriously appear in a very small number of Ponds today. If you'd like your Pond to have a chance of being one of these starter Ponds,
make sure your Garden is underwater, that you have an empty feeding table out (any type will do) and also that your Garden is not set to "private".
Then from these few initial Ponds (there will only be 3 or 4 of them), frogs will gradually breed and spread to other Garden Ponds. All the information you need to successfully
start breeding frogs in your own Pond is in the Wildlife Guide, however please take care to read it very carefully to understand the process before you begin
(it's not too difficult once you get the general idea!)
However if you're finding it difficult to start getting frogs in your Pond, don't worry - it will become much easier in time, when more Gardens are attracting them!
Then towards the end of this month, the last of the 'Pond-themed' wildlife will be arriving in Fairyland... and you'll need to use your newly acquired
frog-breeding skills to help attract them!

Sunflower Growing Challenge!
This Summer's challenge is to grow the tallest Sunflower you can! All Sunflowers are 20 inches in height when the flower first blooms. Then for the first hour after the flower appears, you have the opportunity to make it grow taller by spotting and/or attracting Summer Mice & Mallards. Each one you either spot in another Garden, or is spotted in your Garden, will cause your Sunflower to grow by 2 inches (or by 4 inches if it's a Summer Pygmy Mouse!) There are 2 levels of challenge to suit different players (one pretty easy, one very challenging!)
You have exactly 1 hour to grow the tallest Sunflower you can (you can't freeze your garden during this time) and when you have finished growing it, return to this page and click the Sunflower icon below to claim your reward... Good Luck! |

A brand new set of pond wildlife are in the Wildlife Guide right now. They are attracted by a combination
of different Pondweeds. You therefore need to have completed the "Rainbow Of Fish" challenge before attempting
this (as otherwise you can only grow one Pondweed at a time!)
There are 7 new wildlife to attract & spot in this category,
including the notoriously difficult to spot Loch Ness Monster!

Daffodils of course attract the Easter Bunny. Remember to keep an empty "nest" in your own Garden while hunting for him as he will drop a decorated egg for you
whenever you spot him in another garden, which will then incubate in your nest.

As the winter season draws to a close in Fairyland (with the Ice Flower only available for a short time longer) it's time for the First Flowers of Spring to begin appearing!

When flowering, the First Flower of Spring will attract the Groundhog to your Garden. (According to Fairyland Folklore, when the Groundhogs leave hibernation and begin visiting the Gardens again, it's a sure sign that winter will soon be over and spring is just around the corner!)
Then when Ready For Harvest, the First Flower of Spring will bring springtime showers in your Garden (but remember that you need to have a cloud in your sky first, produced by the "White Marshmallow" Magical Pot - after all, there can't be any rain without a cloud!)

Just like their land-dwelling cousins, the Pond Mythological Wildlife are attracted by the different "Ready For Harvest" mushrooms (and of course your Garden must also

Also like the original Mythological wildlife, the Pond Mythologicals become progressively rarer, so while the Seadragons are common like the Mermaids, the latter ones such as the
Sea-Pegasus / Sea-Unicorn are very rare (which means that they don't visit very often and you can only expect to get occasional visits.)

Underwater Toadstools Now Last A Little Longer!

A popular suggestion on our forums recently has been to extend the "fully grown" life of the Underwater Toadstool to match that of the Supershroom,
since they will often be used together. This makes good sense, so Underwater Toadstools planted from now onwards will remain fully grown for 1.5 days (increased from 1 day) which is the same as the Supershroom.
We hope you're enjoying the new Pond theme so far! It's all very simple just now so everyone can get the hang of how it works...
but plenty more fun stuff is coming soon with the next watery wildlife arriving later this month!

Just an advance warning that Fairyland will be unavailable for about 20 minutes on Tuesday January 21st, sometime between 0600-0730 GMT to allow us to perform an important server upgrade. This is a pretty quiet time of day in Fairyland, so the downtime will hopefully affect as few people as possible. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

What's In The Garden Pond?!

If you managed to collect some of the new Mystery Seeds, you're probably itching to know what they're for!
Well the wait is over and they can now be planted in any 'toadstool' pot (the same ones used for the Fairytales - any one will do!)

Well the wait is over and they can now be planted in any 'toadstool' pot (the same ones used for the Fairytales - any one will do!)
When planted, the new mystery seed will grow into an Underwater Toadstool, which will attract the beautiful Fairyland Mermaid to your Garden!
When she is spotted in your Garden, the Mermaid will sit upon your Toadstool, magically transporting your Garden to her underwater world at the bottom the Garden Pond!

Whenever your Garden is submerged in the Garden Pond (don't worry - all your plants can grow as normal while underwater!) you will be able to attract the new Garden Pond Wildlife which are listed in a new section in the Wildlife Guide.
The first 7 Garden Pond wildlife are nice & easy to attract - in fact you may recognize them as they're 7 of the regular Fairyland wildlife (ones which can swim underwater!)
And of course, there will be lots more Garden Pond wildlife and challenges arriving over the coming months!

Changing Flower Colours With Sparkle Dust!

We hope everyone enjoyed the festive season and that you're having a great 2014 so far! It's almost time for our new year surprise in Fairyland (which arrives tomorrow!)
But today, there's just one small improvement to the game to let you know about:
As you know, some Fairyland flowers come in different colours/varieties (for example the Piscis Aquabullae, which comes in 7 different colours.)
Until now, you needed to use Gold Dust if you wanted to change the colour/variety to a different one, which could get a little expensive
if you wanted to make a few changes.
Great news - you now use Sparkle Dust instead of Gold Dust for this purpose!
Many of you will have quite a store of unused Sparkle Dust already (earned from the Magical Mushrooms game), effectively making it free for you to change flower colours!
Or if you happen to have none left, then more can always be purchased in the Shoppe much more cheaply than Gold Dust :)
