Ever thought about what wildlife is attracted by a certain garden set-up?
You can check it on the wildlife calculator http://myarduinoprojects.com/wildlifecalculator/index.html |
With the introduction of the new Limited Edition and Magical Pots many players find that they don't have enough diamonds
to buy them and that the numbers of diamonds needed can look a bit scary! But it is not that hard to conserve diamonds and
save enough for any pot with a little patience :)
Here are a few tips:
Wildlife Levels and Diamonds Earned
Wildlife Levels
Wildlife Levels are earned by reaching certain "milestones" in the number of Diamonds you have earned by spotting and attracting Wildlife in Fairyland. They're useful because they help you to unlock new "Magical Mushrooms" for growing in your Garden - these help to deter the M&M's!
Please note: Diamonds earned from "mini mushrooms" games etc are given to you as gifts and are not counted towards your Wildlife Level - these levels can only be earned by spotting/attracting wildlife! And of course, you can happily spend your Diamonds after earning them (on Diamond Dust etc) without affecting your Wildlife Level - everything you have earned in the past is remembered.
You attract wildlife to your garden by leaving food out for them to eat. Growing different plants will help to attract different types of wildlife - some much more valuable than others. To spot wildlife, you need to water a plant in the garden - if any wildlife is there, you will see it after watering. One place to find new gardens is to hunt in the Fairyland Wildlife Guide, where gardeners will post messages inviting new wildlife spotters to their gardens.Achieving new Wildlife Levels will help you to unlock 'Magical Mushrooms' for growing in your garden (see the 'Mushrooms' section in the "Fairyland seed shoppe" for full details - you must spot and attract one of each RFH mushroom's unique mythological wildlife to advance to the next mushroom level.)
Friends: Wildlife can only be spotted when a plant is watered, so the more friends you have helping out in your Garden around the clock, the higher the chance that the wildlife you attract will be spotted. Encourage your friends to join "Fairyland" so you can help spot wildlife in each others gardens! Advertise in the wildlife tabs, and get your garden
link into the verified lists in the ALFF Group page. Some of the rare wildlife stay only a couple of minutes, so the more visitors the better.
Dusting plants
If you usually dust your plants until 'Fully Grown', try to use less diamond dusts - waiting a few hours for a plant to become 'fully grown' will conserve a lot of diamonds. These charts (below) are based on using a DD for a minimum gain of 12 hrs off the growth time. Using any more is just wasteful and will not help you towards your goals of being able to purchase Limited Edition and Magical Pots.

BLUE DIAMONDS
PINK DIAMONDS - Introduced 14th December 2012
If you time it right, you can have some plants 'Growing happily' while you have other plants
attracting something in your garden, saving even more dust.
Example of why the 12 hrs minimum rule for dusting is SO important!
Gathering Pixies Mushroom
(FG) Fully Grown after 7 days
with no diamond dust you will wait 7 days from the time you plant it until it deters M&M's
1 dust - 3 days 12 hours
2 dusts - 1 day 18 hours
3 dusts - 21 hours
4 dusts - 10.5 hours
5 dusts - 5.25 hours
6 dusts - 2.5 hours
7 dusts - 1.25 hours
8 dusts - 38 min
9 dusts - 19 min
10 dusts - 9.5 min
11 dusts - 4.25 min
12 dusts - 2.12 min
(It will actually take a total of 14 DD to bring it all the way to completely fully grown! That is 84 diamonds!!)
To clarify, the first 3 DD reduces the time down from 7 days to 21 hrs, but after that, it doesn't take anything substantial off the time.
It is very wasteful, if you are trying to save up ~ waiting that last little bit saves you 66 diamonds! Isn't it worth the wait?
Garden set-up
If you use plants that attract while RFH, it will save you from needing to use your diamonds to dust new ones once they lose their attraction powers. The only thing which will need to be regrown and dusted to FG is the mushroom in that scenario. Even if you are attracting something average, two organic plates of wildlife valued at 2 diamonds each will still give 20 diamonds per day just from gardening- no hunting required! The Hedgehog/Albino/Badger set-ups are good because you have a chance at albino wildlife that are worth 10 diamonds each and everything is RFH- its also 30 diamonds if you get an Albino Badger to show up, and 7 diamonds for the regular ones. Kiwis also work exceptionally well to accrue diamonds with only the mushroom needing to be regrown to keep its deterrent powers up.

Diamonds from hunting
And, of course, any wildlife spotted in other gardens will help to reach the goal as well!
